Tracks are "Audio Suicide", "One Last Time" and "Way of Life"

Opening with a sombre and dreamy harp, Cutback lull you into something completely different and then Audio Suicide begins with a Lost Prophet-esque intro (without the American accent but just as polished) that is instantly warming to the ears, drawing you in. A solitary discord then throws you into a rollicking chorus. This is Cutback’s "Ok we’ve got your attention now shut up n listen" and the thing is that is exactly what you do and by the end of the song you forget that you are listening to a relatively unknown band from Norwich, which is testament to what they’ve produced on this EP and exactly the reason a record company from Florida have snapped them up.

Next up is "One Last Time" a very British (very much in the mold of Mansun), buzz saw attacking 3 minutes 28 seconds of power pop constantly driving and I suspect one of Karl Jagger’s favourite songs in the set to play if the choruses are anything to go by. You can’t help but like the song and in the last quarter of the song as Chris Sammaicci asks "How am I supposed to deal with something?" I’m instantly reminded of a certain Chris Cheney’s vocals (The Living End) and if that is the effect listening to "One Last Time" is having on me then I must be loving this track!

Finally we have "Way Of Life" and I’d warrant an absolute stormer live, Simon Taylor gets freedom of the city on this one on bass and makes a sterling job of it as well, "Way Of Life" is very much Wonderstuff circa 88 and would have sat on "Eight Legged Groove Machine" without looking out of place at all. Cutback are far too young to be aware of this fact having only left college a few years ago, so it makes their songwriting even more impressive.

There is a power and passion about Cutback that is not found that often, especially in times of the electronic spineless art school music that the musical press would have you believe is good, cool and current. If your music tastes consist of bands such as Lost Prophets, Mansun, Living End, Wonderstuff and many more British or Brit inspired bands then Cutback are the band for you and "Audio Suicide" is a very accomplished and creditable debut EP and I for one can’t wait for the Album!!!

Look out America, the Brits are on their way to show you that we aren’t just a nation full of synthesizers and drum machines with timid vocalists with a personality bypass; we can still kick some serious ass whilst sounding shit hot!!!!
