Just Bounce Records Launch Party
Friday 27th November 2009
@ The Worship, London
by Henrietta Armstrong
Walking inside the venue, The Worship in Old Street with its sexy cool interior of leather seats and dark wood; we were greeted with a glass of champagne, a great start to any evening! The bar offers an impressive list of cocktails and alcohol, which would be difficult to sample in one night, even though we tried. Everyone was enjoying the chilled out mix of old school hip hop and R & B classics. We were particularly impressed by the 6 ft high chocolate fountain with chocolatiers on hand to assist and prevent anyone from diving in. As well as the ice sculpture in the shape of the Bounce records logo, that had people braving the risk of getting their lips stuck for shots of vodka.
The 'Just Bounce' showcased their latest signed emerging talent fresh from touring with 'Chipmunk and 'Tinchy Stryder'. It started off with the extremely talented 'June', who got the crowd moving with her fresh electro rap sound, and future hits 'Stop messing around, and 'What You Gonna Do'.
Next up was 'The Real Mr Smith' who rocked with tracks 'Pass me by' and 'The Show' and lastly 'SeeJay100' who blew everyone away with 'I Cant Help It', 'So Hard' and 'London'.
A special mention has to be made for the excellent backing band supporting all the acts, who were really cool. We were especially in awe of their 7 string bass. When the live show had sadly finished, we were left in the more than capable hands of 'DJ Snatcher', 'DJ SP' and 'DJ Kimichi' who flew in especially from Norway, with their own individual takes on the latest urban sounds, who had the dance floor throbbing till the small hours of the night.
