The Railway Tavern is a traditional village pub, for which Stone Pony (a band consisting of guitarist/vocalist Andy Graham and anyone else he can drag out on the night) served up traditional British pub rock fayre of rock'n'roll (Chuck Berry), Blues (old Fleetwood Mac, Van Morrison), vintage rock (Stones, Hendrix, Traffic) and extended funk jams (based on Car Wash, and ... er ... Come Together). An unexpected late licence meant we played longer than we thought - on at 9-ish for a short first set, a short break, and then back on until nearly midnight.
I played my Hammond XK-1 organ, as a single keyboard; Zack played a P-bass through a Trace Elliot combo; Jake Graham played a very nice four-piece kit with the deepest bass drum I have ever seen; and main man Andy Graham played a variety of Fender Strats and a Les Paul through a Marshall JCM 2000 head and 2x12" cab. The sound of a Les Paul through a Marshall is hard to beat - classic rock. The Wohomusic fanbase was out in force (thanks Jon, Mark, Lizzie, Will, Phoebe, Nick and Jerry!). I believe a review is imminent.
